Rossella Ventura

Rossella Rossella Ventura is an Associate Professor of Psychobiology at the Department of Psychology of the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). She obtained a PhD in Psychobiology and Psychopharmacology (2000; Sapienza University of Rome, Italy), and from 2005 to 2011, she worked as a Researcher at the University of L’Aquila (Italy). She is a member of the PhD program in Behavioral Neuroscience at Sapienza Rome.

Her research topic is on the psychobiology of mental diseases, focusing on the behavioral and neurobiological consequences of early life adversity exposure and investigating the interaction between genetic, environmental, and epigenetic factors. Her training as a cognitive-behavioral therapist helped her develop animal models that connect neurobiological phenotypes with psycho-pathogenic pathways.
