Nathalie Parent

My name is Nathalie Parent. I'm a lawyer by training, a state-qualified family mediator and a trainer, mainly in the field of child protection and adoption in particular. From 2012 to 2020, I was national president of the largest association of adoptive parents in France. In this capacity, I sat on the "Conseil supérieur de l'adoption" from 2012 to 2014, the "Conseil national de la protection de l'enfance" from 2016 to 2020 and the "Conseil national d'accès aux origines personnelles" from 2014 to 2020. I have also carried out missions to the countries of origin of children adopted in France, in order to understand the adoption system in these countries, how children came to be "adoptable" and what care they received in their countries of origin.
